Finally I'm back from HK. HK is similar to S'pore in some ways; the pulse, overall attitude of the people. There is this endless rush - people hurrying from one place to another, pushing and squeezing. The train, called mtr there, is not unlike s'pore in the sense that people rush to get in without caring about the people who struggle to get out.
I love the night flights. As the plane is landing, one can see the bright lights of the city in various shapes, sizes and colours. However, no matter how pretty the night view of s'pore is, as always, I feel a sense of dread and repulsion whenever I return home. I wonder whether many people feel this way as well. When I'm overseas, I want to be there longer. Yes, I do miss my friends, but I'd rather stay in and explore some far away land. Anyway, it is not like I cannot contact my friends. (email- cheap and fast!)
Is it because I study and live here? If I lived and studied in, lets say, HK, would I feel the same way towards HK as I do towards S'pore now?
